Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege - Opertation - Grim Sky : Clash Operator - Trailer Analysis

Ubisoft just releases the next operator defender for Rainbow Six Siege: Grim Sky. The defender is Clash. Below is the teaser trailer

Analyzing Clash from the teaser trailer, this defender will have a shield, but different from an attacker shield operator, it looks like the shield is made of armor glass where Clash can see through it.  This looks like an advantage compared to an attacker shield where the metal shield has a very limited view of the environment.

From the trailer too, it looks like when Clash shield is not extended, she can move with it, But when she extends or expands her shield like Montagne, she will be immobile or hunker-down state, unlike Montagne who can move around when his shield is expanded.  So that would be a difference in how Clash operates. But it looks like Clash advantage is a 180 degrees view of the action from her glass shield and her shield looks like is equipped with a taser to keep away attackers, much like how Maestro evil eyes works.

We don't know yet if Clash armor glass shield is destructible like Tachanka and Black Beard shields. What I think is that this will be indestructible like Montagne and Blitz shield because Clash disadvantage is already being immobile when her shield is fully expanded.  Probably explosives will the only weapon that will be able to shatter Clash shield, if that it will work and considering it is an armor glass compared to a metal shield.  If the shield will be destructible by bullets as fast as Tachanka or Black Beard's shield, then I think the Clash shield will be useless against an attacker's bullets, which will be illogical as Clash strategic use.

Strategically, Clash would be very good in blocking doors and windows with a taser as a weapon too and a very good view of the action from her shield.  Attackers would have to go around a room if Clash is blocking the door or window.   Then Clash would have to retract her shield to be able to move around the map.  And if Clash is immobile if she is blocking a door or window with the expanded shield then she will need her teammates to help to cover the other doors or opening.  If Clash can be position into a corner of the room which is the same as when players used Montagne going into a room.  Then Clash would function like Maestro's evil eye, tasering attackers but be immobile at the same time fully protected from bullets except explosive.

That is my analysis of Clash from the teaser trailer.

Full reveal will be on August 19.
